Thoughts and Randomness

The best laid plans….

A. Don’t always work out the way we want them to.

B. See “A”.

I had the best of intentions. I really did. But due to circumstances beyond my control, I wasn’t able to pull off my spur-of-the-moment plan. It doesn’t matter what it was, what matters is that I tried.

Do I get credit for trying? I hope so…..

Seriously though, sometimes you have to wonder why things happen the way the do. I mean, you plan a trip and something goes awry. Is it divine intervention? Or is it because it just wasn’t meant to be?

Alas, I know certain people are disappointed that I couldn’t be where they wanted me to be. And that really bothers me, because I would never try and hurt them. Ever. But I’ve learned that sometimes plans fall apart so better ones can come together.

And that’s what I’m planning on. A better plan.

  1. I’m a firm believer in things happening for a reason, or divine intervention, either one, I’m okay with the disappointment if I remember there might always be a bigger picture or lesson to learn……like my husband, bought a brand new car July 6, with 7 years of monthly car payments, doable, but….sure was nice to have none for a few years. Aug. 1, he was in a car accident, his unfortunate fault, and fortunately he wasn’t hurt, nor the 3 people in the other car. BUT, his car was deemed totaled (blessing in disguise, rather than still have to pay full price for a refurbished car). After all is said and done, insurance paid off the car loan, which was enough that it also somehow paid for our $1000 deductible and the $120 ticket he got. We are truly blessed. Don’t know why the car was “taken” from us so soon, but maybe down the line, we’ll see a bigger picture. And for now, we’re taking that as a sign to not buy another new car right away.
Your post made me think of that.

    1. You are correct – everything happens for a reason, although we don’t always know why at the time.

I’m glad Kevin is okay, though, and the others….

      1. Yes. And crazy that it only happened about 1/4 mile from our house. He called me right after he left and said, “I was just in an accident. I’m not hurt and the other people aren’t either, police aren’t here yet, gotta go.” Then from our neighborhood, people were calling, “I just saw Kevin involved in an accident, is everything okay.” (If they SAW it, they knew more than I did, except that he was okay.) We don’t live far from a state road highway and he was making a left turn and didn’t see the care coming.

I love keeping up with you and your family and yummy food. 😉
